Printing your book with us is simple. You supply us with digital files (or an original hard copy - see here for details on our book scanning and recreation service), we produce a proof copy sent to you by Special Delivery, and once you're happy we'll print and turnaround your books within a timescale agreed by you and your customer service representative.

Please choose one of the three options to view price information and further details.

There are technical specifications listed to the right of this page, these apply to all three of the standard print price models listed above.

We aim to proof new jobs within 48-72 hours, and upon approval can usually turnaround your final order within 5 working days... however, with our 1-25 copy Books On Demand service, our print and despatch time (after approval of the first master copy) is reduced to just 24-48 hours.

Digital Book Printing

Our high speed digital print presses eliminate the need for plates, storage and make-readies associated with traditional litho book printers. The setup time per digital book is minimal, and the presses collate together the book in-line - removing yet another time consuming step in book production workflow.

These time savings compared to litho book printing, mean that we can print more books with reduced waste and storage issues and therefore reduce our margins and pass the cost savings directly onto you. Digital printing is the future for book printing, and at Books on Demand-Worldwide we are at the front of this industry.

Perfect Binding

This technique is used to create shop-ready paperback books, and is the most popular and least expensive finishing option. We produce 10,000 perfect bound books a week, to a high standard using extremely strong Henkel glue on our binding line.

The digitally printed full colour cover (printed onto 240gsm Trucard) leaves the digital colour press room, before it is laminated on our automatic laminator using industry standard ultra-tough gloss or matt laminate.

The printed loose-leaf sheets leave the black and white digital printing presses ready collated, before entering the bindery where the book block is gathered, milled along the spine edge to create a rough surface, the glue is applied and the cover is creased before being wrapped around and adhered to the text block.

Leaving the binder, the books now enter our three-knife trimmer (or in some specialist cases are manually cut on our tungsten tipped guilotine by experienced operators) where the top, bottom and fore-edge of the book are trimmed to create a finished book.

Case Binding

Exceptionally high quality, library and retail-ready hardback books are the latest addition to the digital book printing world. We can produce case bound books from only 1 copy, with a variety of binding styles.

The most common opition for digital case-bound book production, uses unsewn binding. Following the loose-leaf printing process described above, the book blocks are milled and the leaves are glued along the binding edge with a lining added to allow for case binding.

We also offer a stronger, but more expensive, binding process - Sewn Casebound books. Here the pages are not printed as loose leaves, but instead in imposed sections of 32 pages. After collating, folding and gathering all the book sections, a sewing machines threads through each section spine, joining one section to the next. This book block is then glued and bound in to lining ready for casing-in.

Cases are made, either Wibalin binding with or without additional full colour dust jacket, or using printed paper cases (PPC's). Additionally, we can offer foil blocking on front and/or spine, as well as rounded back spines, crusher panels, acetate covers, head and tail bands, individual shrink wrapping and more...

You can obtain an instant price for 25-250 copies of a standard casebound book (including PPC only) or please fill in our quotation request form for a detailed quote from 1 copy to 1000's.
